Reviews

BBC117

There's statue in his honor in Edinburgh. I became so immersed in the daily goings-on with Bobby that at some level I became Bobby. I became anxious when some harm might be coming Bobby's way. As one who has had dogs in my life since early childhood, I "ken" the love of a dog and his or her human companion.

REV VINCENT

This book is ideal for a parent or a sibling to read aloud to the wee younger ones. If one does not mind stumbling through some of the Celtic brogue, there will be no loss of full and loving enjoyment; and, endearment. Greyfriars Bobby is a true story of a skye terrier in the 1800's in Scotland who defined loyalty.

I was so swooped up into this book, I set aside a time each night before retiring to read more. I own the hard copy plus the digital copy and treasure both. One of my all time favorite books. Heart wrenching story but with more than one solid message.

Being of Scottish and Scots/Irish ancestry, the book speaks to me. Although this book was written originally in 1912 with a bit of Scottish brogue, it is alive this very day slightly more than a century later. I will miss you, Greyfriars Bobby! One cannot help but fall fully in love with Greyfriars Bobby.

😢🙏💖 Then, in the lighter moments and more exuberant activities I would laugh aloud and wipe tears of joy from my eyes. The other characters define compassion and love.

"Greyfriars Bobby" by Eleanor Atkinson should be read by every young person and by every adult who truly loves dogs and knows their spirit. Bobby, for a moment in time, became as much a part of my life as he had become among so many in Edinburgh in his, Bobby's, time.
