It was a gift and there wasn't enough time to exchange it. I had never heard of it before this year. I own the Beatrix Potter Collection and love it, have been reading it since I was a child. Also as stated by another reviewer, no 40 year mark as originally shown.

This book is beautiful and big ? Filled with heart warming and wholesome stories this makes a great gift for any family with young children. . These are two very different story types though, and I don't think comparable.

Our whole family loves this book! The cross sections of their little homes are adorable. Why is not here? Love this book so much.

I've loved these stories as a kid and I'm now reading them to my own child. Her favorite story is the Sea Story.

I was contemplating buying the second collection separately, but as my own copy of the seasons is pretty tatty (being 30+ years old) I invested in the full collection - and have not been disappointed. My kids absolutely adore it and it has a special kind of magic. Too bad the cover came torn, however. Worth its weight in gold.
