She surpasses herself, which deeply impressed me. But Rip is more than just a commander - he is a Fae, a magical being whose existence has long been forgotten in legends and believed by no one. It delves deeper into the story, unleashing a wealth of emotions and taking us into a dark and captivating world. This world is soooo wonderful.

The author does not shy away from filling her words with intensity. I respect Malina and her power grab, but I didn't appreciate learning that she's the one who tipped off the Red Raids about Auren.

The characters. She finds herself in the hands of the Fourth Kingdoms army, under the rule of King Ravinger. I was utterly disgusted with Midas when him and Auren were reunited. While in captivity, Rip gets dangerously close to Auren, threatening to reveal her secret that must be protected at all costs.

There were some light-hearted moments though, including a few harmless pranks with 2 flanks of the army stealing a barrel of wine back and forth, which I found hilarious❌SPOILER WARNING❌•••••Rip and his army weren't what I expected at all. Through her skillful storytelling and alternating perspectives of Auren and Queen Malina, she takes the reader on a captivating journey through the chapters.
