It's not rocket science, clean water for a brew when out walking or camping, sorted. The DrinkSafe WaterStraw's failure to produce clear water leaves me with a loss of trust. I also made an end cap by chopping up a pop bottle and gluing the lid over the open neck.

Now to filter it. First I tried the Sawyer Mini - expecting poor results.

Maybe its broken? I thought I must have messed up somewhere and tried a second time. But I won't personally be trusting the DrinkSafe WaterStraw and I'll be sticking to the Sawyer Mini from now on!

But hey presto from rather muddly green water it produced crystal clear water - wow! The package was delivered with a crack in the syringe tube, otherwise everything was good.

I would buy another immediately if I ever misplaced it. Flow rate is good and despite what other reviews have suggested, the bag works well and doesn't split if you are careful not to squeeze too hard.

(see picture attached) I even managed to add a quick connect to the syringe which makes for solid connection when back flushing. The flow is really good, it lasts forever if you take care of it and don’t filter puddle water and weighs nothing.
