The locking system needs rework from the engineering department; they probably didn't take into consideration that weather elements were hard on fancy electrical components. (also - they sent me 2? . 2022 Mitsubishi PHEV (saw someone else with same make/model said it didn't fit but don't know why).

I’m happy to say it actually works. I'll update in a few months if I see scratches or quality issues but I don't see any negatives yet. I highly suggest you take a fridge magnet and make sure the area around your charging port is metal and not plastic. I think though it could shift a bit and possibly allow the elements to leak in if the snow was heavy enough, or rain/hail/wind pelted down hard on it however there is no fear of losing it as the Velcro strap holds it tight to the cord.

Love that it rolls away neatly tied by the velcro strap too. The charge flap on the VW ID4 is really big, so this product doesn't exactly fit perfectly for this car. Magnet to body is nice and strong and the perimeter/circumference is adjustable. Luckily the magnetic strip is flexible and can mold itself around the bends.

I wasn’t really expecting much but after having to chisel the ice out of my charge port one day just so I could close the door I knew I had to do something to prevent it again. Even if it did leak I’m sure it would still be better than not using it at all. Came here a couple of weeks ago in desperation looking for something that would cover the charge port in a snow storm because the articulated hinge design on the Chevy Volt is an invitation for snow and ice to gunk up the hinge and make it so you can't close the door. It took a bit of trying it different ways to see how it fit best because my Kia Niro PHEV is not flat around the charge port.
