Originally innocent, William Bradshaw is drawn into the weird but very real world of dodgy dealings (and the rest) of Mr Norris. The unusual manner, one of a friendly but frightened politeness, intrigues our man who is encouraged to maintain a friendship beyond what would be normal for Bradshaw. It's a bit sad because it make me question how the seller store the books, because the package was in perfect conditions.

Cozooks of Brixham

The only questionable thing is that the book arrived with a dent. The conversations are carried out in perfect English/German? full of 'my dear boy's and a deference that seems very out of place in these times but, of course, this story unfolds in the years pre-WWII in Berlin. ?

The slightly larger font of this version makes the reading very much easier for less than youthful eyes and I found the style of writing, particularly the dialogue, engaging. The book seems to have a good quality, and the font type is a bit bigger than usual, but it's fine. Written in the first person from the viewpoint of Bradshaw, we begin on a train where the two protagonists first meet when William asks Norris for a light.
