The Afterburn doesn't have that much padding in that area. The entire foot pillow is so different than regular Sketchers. Reputable brand Skechers! Light weight.

I did my first 45 minute walk and I had no pain. I expected longer lasting. Most of the shoe is cushioned from the mid to back so when you stride your weight us fully cushioned as you put your weight down when you stride. 5 but bought an 11.

8/17/23The sole portion under the forefoot has already worn down to almost flat. And you stride with no hard slapping.

So they are a success. The shoes are as comfortable as I expected them to be and they look good too!

I suspect it's from the slapping of my foot. Initially they fit great. I bought these based on reviews and description of the model.

Time will tell if that affects cushioning. I wear a 10. I like the look and they are lighter than the Afterburn model.
