If you are looking to make fresh ice cream for the evening, then make the mixture first thing in the morning and get it chilling throughout the day. I definitely recommend this product it is a great price and makes great ice cream! Otherwise it starts to freeze too quickly and the mixer can’t turn properly leaving you with a mess.

If you're expecting instant cone-ready ice cream, you'll be sorely disappointed. This is why I have given it four stars; you would otherwise be stumped for freezing the bowl. Patience is definitely required: first you have to freeze the inner bowl (and make sure it'll fit in your freezer!

So it's not a great activity to do with kids who'll be expecting to scoff the results instantly. VERY soft ice cream will be made, which will then require further freezing before it's ready to eat, and will probably then be a lot harder than modern soft-scoop. When the mix is firming up (about 25mins of churning) add 120g of your choice. I bought this from Amazon UK and its the best ice cream maker on a budget.

Takes no time at all, usually it’s ready in about 10 minuets. Whenever I make ice cream, I prepare the mixture the night before. Bought for 15 year old son.
