I really can’t see anyone not enjoying what happens to Ebeneezer, Bethany and the Beast. My grandson loves weird and wacky books, so I hope he’ll love this one, it certainly looks exciting, especially when the monster requires a new meal to eat. Ebenezer Tweezer has to find a child for the beast to eat and decides to go to the orphanage where he spots Bethany, the most annoying child there.

:)Also, the book is extremely pretty! It's light, fun and there is something about the writing and the story, that kept me glues to the pages.

The book has themes around kindness and selfishness and the consequences of dishonesty and nastiness to others. :D-Thanks to Egmont for a free copy for review. There’s even a funny ‘about the author section’ which reads just like a chapter of the book too (rather than a more ‘sensible’ biography).

The Beast tells Ebeneezer to find him something new…he wants to eat a human child! It tells the story of Ebenezer Tweezer, a 511 year old dude who has a very unusual and dangerous creature living in his house - the Beast. This looks like a super fun read, the cover is pretty and I love the green sprayed edges! On the top floor of his house, in the attic lives the reason for his good fortunes, the Beast.

Bethany is a character I actually enjoyed, and I oddly enjoyed Ebenezer’s character too, as he starts off a certain way but goes through quite a few changes over the course of the story. He has all that he desires.

I would recommend this for older children and young adults but im in my 30s and enjoyed it. He decides she’d be a good feast for the beast, but when he gets home with Bethany the beast isn’t impressed.

The beast always wants new things to eat and gift Ebenezer with all that he wants in return. The illustrations are all in black, white and grey and are so funny. I read this book to my 5 year old daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Ebenezer came by the Beast when it got stuck to his shoe.
