About this deal
The Arcadia Reptile ‘Ceramic Heat Lamp’ produces and projects high quality deep ‘Infra-Red’ heat far into an enclosure; when used correctly, these will provide you with many years of targeted heat. It also increases the ambient air-temperature in the terrarium. These lamps can become very hot, as such it is essential for the safety of your pets and your own alike that these lamps are only used with the correct wattage E27 Ceramic lamp holder, are not placed directly against flammable material or other electrical items and that they are suitably caged at all times. These bulbs don't destroy vitamin D making them perfect for smaller animals. The Ceramic Heat Emitter provides an efficient radiant heat source which creates a natural sun-like heat without visible light. Ceramic bulbs can reduce feather pecking and allow for natural night/day which is beneficial for the animals. Ceramic heaters provide excellent levels of heat but emit no light.

I am in the process of building a 4’ x 2’ enclosure for my boys, so I purchased two to cover a larger area than what they have now. I think I'll still be buying them though. We're never going back! Just buy these instead of the red or white heat bulbs!

This has worked perfectly since the day I got it and my Chinese water dragons seem to love it. WE LOVE THESE!

It blew my breaker thankfully but I do not understand why something designed to output heat would have so much solder on the contacts. These things work really well, I think I've gone through about 6 now though. I prefer this over the “stick on the side” heaters because it gives my boys the option to bask under the heat or not. Love that this will fit in the short housing but the heat doesn’t seem to radiate very far.
They're an excellent alternative to a traditional heat "bulb". Picture of our brooder setup (that's a 45 gallon watering trough for size reference, and quart-sized feeder/waterer units). Just something to note.
This is the first time that I have experienced a complete short in the lamp. They fit in the same ceramic socket / fixture that a regular heat bulb would use, so you don't need to get anything extra/special for your brooder setup.
