Best read of 2022, and more witty than I thought it was going to be. And when the separate story lines come together, you can see it's really been constructed masterfully - I loved how it all came together at the end.

It's everything I imagine 1920s London to be (in my head - a bit glitzy and a bit sordid at the same time) how true this is, I'm not really sure - but i'm also not sure I care as I was painted a fabulous picture by Kate Atkinson. I don't normally read this genre - historical fiction I guess, although the main character Nelli Corker is based on a real life person which adds interest. *photo is of Goldsboro edition of the book

I really loved this book, the plot is subtle, and characters are exceptionally well drawn with lots of backstory which I found really interesting (they all have some sort of social commentary aspect that is of the time - 1920s). Also - for a book that follows multiple character POVs there wasn't really one I didn't enjoy following.
